Q: How can my child participate in the program? A: To participate, students need to register during the registration period and have a current physical on file. Students must also maintain an “C” average in the classroom.
Q: When are the registration periods for each sport? A: Registration dates vary for each sport. Please check the program’s website or contact your school’s athletic coordinator for specific dates.
Q: Will my child need to try out for a team? A: No, the program is open to all 4th and 5th graders who register during the registration period.
Q: Can parents volunteer to help with the program? A: Yes, parent volunteers are welcome and may be needed for various roles. A background check is required and additional training. Contact your school’s athletic coordinator if you’re interested.
Q: What safety measures are in place for student athletes? A: The program follows safety guidelines set by the district and the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) to ensure the well-being of all student athletes. In addition to those guidelines the athletic department conducted safety evaluations of all facilities that will be utilized for practice and games.

Q: When will we know what days and times are practices and games/competitions? When will registration close for the fall season? A: Teams will practice twice a week right after school for an hour. The coaches will lead the practice and select the days. There will be no practice on Fridays. Lastly, all games will be held on Saturdays. Schedules will be sent out after registration closes (June 30th).
Q: Can a student participate in two sports in the Fall. Soccer and track and field? A: Yes, students are allowed to participate in two sports. Track and field will be the first sport, and when the season ends, soccer will follow immediately after.
Q: Is there extra costs for practices/game uniforms or equipment? A: We understand that financial considerations are important. We’re pleased to inform you that no fee is associated with elementary athletics. The athletic department will supply all necessary equipment and uniforms, excluding shoes, spikes, and cleats which is also optional.
Q: Are parents responsible for transportation to/ from all practices/games, or are the students bused? A: Parents are required to arrange transportation for their children from practices. However, the county will provide transportation for games. The students will meet at their home school, be transported to the games, and return to the school at the conclusion of the games.
Please Note: Upon completing registration, kindly grant us some time to allocate a coach for your child. Once your child’s team is assembled, you will receive an email from their coach containing practice details, expectations, and game schedules.
